Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Admission Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in an area other than communication science and disorders 
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (college) 
  • Official transcripts from all colleges or universities previously attended 
  • Eligible transfer credits accepted 
  • No standardized tests needed

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the program fully online?

All coursework is conducted entirely online; however, you will take part in in-person clinical practicum experiences found in your community, potentially within a 60-mile radius from your home.

None at this time.

No. The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Communication Sciences and Disorders is offered as a stand-alone certificate. This certificate completion would allow students to receive leveling courses appropriate for entry into the MS SLP program at Maryville or another CAA-accredited MS SLP program. 

We offer both a full-time and part-time option. We recommend that new students begin the program at a part-time pace as you adjust to being a new online student.

Transfer credits are reviewed by our academic records team during the application process once your application is complete and transcripts are on file. Eligible transfer credits will be considered.

CMSD 350, 360, and 410 are not eligible for transfer credit.

Yes, financial aid is available.  Program is at the per-credit undergraduate price.

Program payment options are the same as all undergraduate programs.

Although most CAA-accredited Master’s SLP programs have similar entrance requirements, these may vary.

Students should review Maryville’s Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Communication Sciences and Disorders against the master programs’ requirements at other institutions.  

A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required for admission into the Post-Baccalaureate program.

GPA is based on your completed course credits and the grades you’ve earned.

If you’ve attended more than one institution, your GPA is calculated as a weighted average across all schools. For additional questions, please reach out to our enrollment advisors.
